31. DRAMATIC STYLE WITH LED FRESNELS

Aviva and Brian brought some spy-movie style to this photo session. The location was a hotel lobby with huge displays that are constantly changing colors. The challenge was to retain this certain “noir” mood and add a touch of sexiness.

Lighting

I used LED Fresnel lights, a modern version of the hotlights used for classic Hollywood glamor lighting. The specific make was the Litepanels Sola 4. The 4-inch diameter Fresnel gives a fairly concentrated beam that can be focused, dimmed, and of course flagged. I added one light on Aviva and another on Brian, but more as sidelight/backlight. Both were flagged to control the spread of the light. The pull-back shot (above) shows the setup.
